LaserJet Pro MFP 4101fdw stuck in Verifying

Attempting to update my printer firmware. Downloaded the "HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4101 - 4104 series Firmware Update Utility" which is a Windows executable.

The update utility correctly identifies my printer and that it is currently on firmware 2437F. The update utility has firmware 2624A embedded in the executable. So tapped Update button and the update pushes the firmware to my printer via my local ethernet network.

The firmware utility then comes back with "The update has failed. Please turn the printer off, then on, and retry the update". However, the printer is now stuck forever "Verifying" regardless of how I turn off the printer. i.e. power off/on cycle and then disconnecting the power cable, leaving it disconnected for 60 seconds and reconnecting and power back on.

I tried to connect to the embedded web server (EWS) by going to a browser and going to https://localipaddress of printer and all it shows is the nginx welcome page:

Welcome to nginx!

If you see this page, the nginx web server is successfully installed and working. Further configuration is required.

The printer control panel still stuck in Verifying. 

I googled for a way to force reset NVRAM and hopefully, to restore the original factory firmware back but nothing seems to work. I've seen solutions involving holding the back and cancel buttons simultaneously but the 4101fdw does not have a cancel button. It only has back, home and help buttons.

Next, I tried to find to locate a BDL firmware file for the printer but could not find any BDL firmware file for it. They only publish a Windows executable to update the printer. It seems HP has removed the ability to force update the printer if you stick a USB thumb drive into its USB slot and the BDL firmware file. I went to the download page and changed my operating system to Linux and Mac OS hoping it will allow me to download a BDL firmware file but none of those options allow me to even update the firmware. OMG - It seems only Windows is supported! Good thing I am on Windows

Does anyone know of any way to get the original firmware back up and running? HP needs to seriously fix their Windows-only firmware update and give us the BDL firmware files back with USB thumb drive firmware update support!
