Hey good people,
I recently bouhght a brand new LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw.
It's been fucntioning quite well until recently when it started behaving strangely.
When switched on, it writes 'Initializing...' for quite long sometimes for a whole day and it doesnt improve even when restarted. And it cannot perform any function when in this state.
Thanks for your help.

Hi @kenobatKE,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you are unable to print from your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw printer as it is stuck on the message 'Initializing".
This issue could occur if the printer is in error state.
Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.
And here's the step by step guide for you listed below:
1. Disconnect USB/Network/FAX and power on the Standalone unit.
2. Check and remove any packaging material inside the printer and toner cartridge.
3. Try different power source.
4. Perform a power cycle by unplugging the power cord while the power is on and plug it back.
5. Perform a power drain by disconnecting the power cord from the back of the printer and keeping the power button pressed for 30 seconds and if there is a power switch, keep the switch in ON position for 30 seconds before reconnecting the power cord.
6. Turn Off the printer for 3 min and then try turning on the unit.
Let me know how this works.
You have a good day ahead.

Hi @amirhyou,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query in this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
I reviewed your post and I understand that the printer is stuck on initializing screen.
Don’t worry, I’d love to help.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the printer was working fine?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to follow below steps and check.
-
Make sure the printer is idle, not making any sounds, before continuing.
-
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
-
Wait at least 60 seconds.
-
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
-
If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button
to turn it on.
-
Try again and note what happens.
If the issue persists, I recommend you to update the printer firmware and check. Follow the steps in the below article to update the printer firmware.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

dear @The_Fossette,
Thank you for your instructions but they didn't work for me. I also updated the firmware, it didn't work either.
The last time the printer worked fine was more than two weeks ago and I didn't made any changes on the computer.
I also figured out something. Before having this issue there was a green light moving on scanner panel while printer was initializing but now it doesn't turn on.
