I have set up the printer and setting up scanning. I can scam off of the flatbed glass, however, the printer wont let me scan from the feeder. When I select that option, I get a notice pop-up saying: "Scanner communication cannot be established. Ensure your product is powered on, check the connection, and ensure your network is functioning properly. If these conditions are correct, restart the product and try scanning again. if you are installed using a cable connection, ensure both ends of the cable are secure..."

I have checked both ends of the cable, and they are firmly secured into theire respectful places, and this notice keeps popping up.

What should I do and how can I fix this problem?

Thanks!

Hi,

To eliminate any hardware failure, can you copy from the document feeder with no issues?

If the ADF functions as expected by the hardware, the issue more likely related with the communication between your PC and the device.

If the hardware responce as expected please try following this tool by selecting Fix Scanning:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe

If the issue persists, I suggest ensuring the USB is directly connected to a port at the back of yoru PC and not through any USB hub or extention, as well ensure the cable is not longer than 2 meters length.

I would also suggest trying a different port of your PC and check for any difference.

If the same persists, may you see any difference by trying a different USB cable?
