A few days ago our printer started printing things crooked.  I checked for paper pieces in the feed, checked the toner cartridge for damage (it is low on toner), and checked that the paper feeds correctly.

No paper jam or paper pieces.  No damage on the toner cartridge.  Paper feeds straight.

It just simply prints like the paper and toner aren't aligned.  I have no idea what the cause is.  Could it be from low toner?

@jrothra To assist you better, I would like to know the following information:

  • Does this issue occur if the paper is fed from the paper tray and also from the document feeder?
  • Did you select the correct paper type and paper size from the print settings of the application you're trying to print from?
  • Is the printer able to make a photocopy correctly?
  • Does the printer pick up the paper crookedly or is the paper picked up straight?

While you respond to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
  • Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

Once done, please download and install the firmware update for your printer: click here for details.

You may restart the printer after the firmware update is successfully installed.

If issue persists, please click here to troubleshoot further
