Since the latest firmware update a few weeks ago my printer will not go into sleep mode if my Mac is on.  Occasionally either unplugging the USB printer cable for a minute or unplugging the printer's power cable will resolve the issue, but this doesn't always work.  Today, for example, I've tried both multiple times and rebooted my Mac but the printer still will not go to sleep when powered on and connected to my Mac.  This was never an issue before the latest firmware update.  Please help!

does it go to sleep if you disconnect the cable from the Mac? It sounds like some activity on your MAC is keeping the printer active. I would suggest you also check for any updates that may be available for the printer drivers.

Thanks for your response.  Yes, it does go to sleep if I disconnect the USB cable.  It's bizarre to me that this wasn't a problem before the printer firmware update.  I really don't know what to do with the Mac to make it stop keeping the printer active even when it's idle.  Can you possibly point me in the direction of where I could find printer driver updates?  Thank you!
