LaserJet enterprise M507
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to connect a LaserJet enterprise M507 to another piece of software to help monitor it using PJL. It is not working and I cannot figure out if PJL is supported by the M507 series. From looking at the documentation it seems this should be able to be enabled through the embedded web server (EWS) but I cannot get that to connect/work either using the IP address of the printer or HP Smart app. My questions are:

Does LaserJet enterprise M507 support PJL?

Is there something special that needs done to use the embedded web server or is that not an option for this printer?

Can you clarify exactly what you are trying to do. While you can use PJL commands to configure printing I am not sure that they will feed the information back out. Much of that communication is done via snmp. Have you considered using a product like Web JetAdmin? It is free and allows for great flexibility in controlling the printer.

I am trying to use a software to run a kiosk that can print. The software allows monitoring of the printer through a cloud server using PJL. My knowledge of PJL is limited but from some of the research I did, I was under the impression that PJL could get information about the printer model, configuration, memory available, page count, and status.

I will look into Web JetAdmin to see if it might help meet our needs but we had hoped to keep everything in one piece of software. I was having trouble connecting the LaserJet enterprise M507 to it and wanted to ensure that it supported PJL.
