HP Latitude E5570
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Had power surge and now a few of our HP Laserjet M602 printers have the error 99.09.67.

tried the firmware update but comes back as failed. It tries to pull in the firmware but within 10 seconds it comes back saying failed.

Hi BHenning0341,

1) Try doing a Format Disk via the pre-boot menu of the printer and then reload the latest firmware.

2) Try doing an Erase/Unlock via the pre-boot menu of the printer and then reload the latest firmware.

3) Replace the eMMC board on the formatter. Then do step 2.

I hope this may help,

Cheers!

I do not see Format Disk, or Erase/Unlock in the menu at all. when it boots up I click on the red X when all 3 lights are on to get me to the systems screen.

When the 99.09.67 error comes up, click any key and you go into the pre-boot menu.

There you go to Administrator -> Format Disk (step 1)

or to Administrator -> Manage Disk -> Boot Device -> Erase/unlock (step 2)

To do a firmware install go to Administrator -> Download -> USB thumbdrive

I hope this helps,

Cheers!

Go into the pre-boot menu as described. Go to administration and find diagnostics and run them. Likely the hard drive is failed and will require replacement.  These devices shipped with an 8Gb ssd drive but you can replace with any Sata drive, but you will loose encryption ability if you use a drive that does not support self-encryption.

the closest to that is Clean disk or Partial Clean.

also erase/unlock have lines through them like they are not an option.

tried changing password but when I try to sign in it tells me wrong password.

Took a 4GB Card out of another Laser jet 600 and replaced it in one of the printers that was giving me the problem and its back up but still have 2 more M602 printers to fix.

Just get a couple of cheap laptop drivers, double sided tape them to the inside of the formatter door. Problem solved, again if you are not hung up on encryption any drive will work.
