I have just got an Supply memory error for a non HP branded cartridge. I've checked other conversations on this and have downloaded the various firmware (the older version is no longer on the HP website and so I had to find a conversation with a link to it). Nothing is working and I can't print. It was working perfectly well until yesterday! ARGH! Any help would be gratefully received.

Hi @baffledUK82,
Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that the issue has not resolved after following the steps mentioned in the previous interaction.
This could be a hardware issue with the unit.
Hence, you may contact HP Technical Phone Support from this link: http://hp.care/2r9wSvP
Select the country where you are located and type the product# or the serial number of the unit and then choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information. Click on 'Show Options' icon and then scroll down the page and select 'Get Phone Number' to get the phone number.
You have a good day ahead.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Laserjet MFP M227 Printer. I understand that you are getting supply memory error and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,
Perform a power reset
- Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer
If the issue persists,
Click here and follow the steps mentioned in the document to fix the issue.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers.

Thanks Sandytech
Unfortunately, all that's come up is that the printer has a 55.0005 error which it says is a 'Hardware memory error (DC controller)' and so it's not fixed the issue. I've googled it but am going round in circles. Any other help you can give would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Hi rlindeman
Yes, indeed, that could be the case. However, it's been working perfectly for the last 2 months and has just suddenly gone wrong. I don't have a local stockist for these having to wait for ones to come through the post and would prefer not to have to shell out if it's going to continue. But I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that this may have to be the next step.
