Laserjet P2015DN
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Laserjet P2015DN that works just fine for 20-30 minutes, then goes into the sleep of death.
Power cycling it brings it back to life for a while.
I've used the built-in web server to look at the unit, and it always shows "Ready" in the Device Status.
Auto continue is On, Connection Timeout is set at maximum (7200), and there does not seem to be any firmware downloads available...  apparently it does not have flashable firmware.
The formatter board is the last version available.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

The problem might be your settings on your driver and not the printer. On your PC, go to control panel>devices and printers, right click the icon for your printer and select printer properties from the dropdown menu. Then to to the ports tab on the driver and check whether your printer is using a WSD port or a Standard TCP/IP port. WSD ports are notorious for losing connection to printers and not recovering unless the printer is power cycled. Also keep in mind that you are dealing with a printer that had a lot of issues with formatters.

Thanks for the fast response, but it's set up as a standard TCP-IP address on my Win 7-64 desktop computer... it and the printer are plugged into 2 ports of the ASUS router on the cable modem.  I use the USB port of the printer on my Win 10-64 laptop.  The USB never dies, the ethernet does,  And it's on a static IP (192.168.1.10, the DHCP range starts at 101) so the DHCP lease issue is not involved... mentioned here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/Fix-R7800-DHCP-Lease-Expiry-HP-LaserJet-400-Printer-....

I've owned this printer since 2009, leave it powered on 24x7x365 and it is used daily by everyone in the family.  It has been totally reliable, and it's performance has resulted in at least 8 of my friends buying P2015s, M401s or M404s.  It has only recently started this behavior.

I'm also aware of the bug in the SNMP bug in one of the earlier printer firmware versions, and I have the SNMP turned off (which was the published workaround until the next version came out).

For what it's worth here's the info on my P2015DN printer:
Formatter Number: JK62QGF
Firmware Datecode: 20080312

I'd rather not toss the printer in the ewaste bin as all of the replacements (M401 and M404 series) are physically larger, plus I have 3 brand new cartridges for the P2015 and naturally they are not usable in any other printer.

One solution suggested by a friend is to put a IP-to-USB print server on it, but it seems "wrong" to do that... the internal one on the formatter board has worked perfectly for over a decade...
