Hi I would like someone to help me with an issue that just started affecting my printer, thank you in advance :generic:

Condition: Printer was moved from one side of the building to another with the help of a dolly since it's kind of heavy.  I'm not sure if the movement or vibration affected the printer, but when it was placed in the new location the printer started showing a message saying " 59.F0 error Turn off then on. " everytime the printer was connected.  There is also a noise that is made by the scanner on top which is made by the light moving back and forth but I'm thinking it's only a way for the printer to catch the user's attention that something is wrong with the printer.

Efforts to fix the issue:

  • I disconnected and reconnected the printer several times but the error doesn't clear up

  • Searched for the service manual ( which wasn't in HP's webisite ) which had the printer's error codes and the description: " Transfer alienation failure"  for my error code 59.F0 but no way to fix it

  • I followed the service manual and removed the Intermediate Transfer Belt and put it back in place.

  • Noticed a gap in between the transfer belt and a gear that is supposed to make it turn which made think about the "alienation" word in the description of the error code.  I have tried to poke this gear or do something so it reaches the transfer belt with no luck. (Picture attached) Is this gear thing supposed to extend somehow automatically thus the problem I am experiencing?

  • I also noticed that a spring with a little hook at the end wasn't in the same location as another spring on the opposite side. The hook at the end doesn't latch to anything so my thought is that this hook is most likely used as a "tab" to move the spring into place.  I moved the spring up onto a white plastic thing that moves which is also present on the other side but doesn't exactly look the same (t seems like the spring isn't where it's supposed to be due to the base coil part being kind of skewed to the side and the "tab" being not in symetry like the opposite one (don't know if this really matters as there is still force on the spring to push the white thing down)

I would  appreciate so much if someone that might know deep knowledge about how this printer works would offer me some advice as to where this problem resides.

Thank you Very Much!!

That spring sure looks like it is out of place.  See if you can figure out if anything broke or if the spring can be reseated to the correct position.  On just about all HP printers with a 59.F0 error it always relates to the ITB so you are on the right track.  I just do not know what that area is supposed to look like and I do not have one of those engines to check it out.
