Hi.

I am troubleshooting a Laserjet enterprise M608.

The issue is that it's stuck at the message "Checking hardware".

Could it be the formatter or else?

Download the firmware update Readme file which explains how to get into the preboot mode and then run diagnostics from there.

Hi.

Thanks for the reply.

I have done the firmware upgrade, but the problem still remain.

Issue: When a user print, it print the pages and after a while the printer will start checking the hardware, initialising, etc. then it will be ready to print after that.

The upgrade seem to have help, but the issue remain.

Should I replace the fprmatter, DC controller or HVPS?

Have you run the hardware diagnostics through the pre-boot menu as suggested? If so, what were the results? If not, please

Pre-Boot walk-up USB thumb drive: (control panel Pre-Boot menu page 33 of document below

Once in the preboot menu, go to administration and then scroll down to diagnostics and run them all. Depending on configuration you can expect a failure for either the hard disk or the EMMC as the system cannot have both. If both fail, there is your problem and by far the most common. If everything passes the tests, your next step would be to format the drive and download fresh firmware.  All options you will see in the preboot menu.

Hi. Thanks for the reply.

My customer might decide to replace the printer, so I didn't had the chance to do the diagnostics.

Thanks anyway for your help.
