Just purchased new printer and installed as per instructions.
Test pages print, can print pdf from HP Smart.
But try from Notepad, word or any other document and I get "The Parameter is incorrect"

Hello, @GarryLD – Greetings!
Thanks for reaching out! I’m here to help 🙂
Going through your post, I see that you are facing issues while printing from Word or notepad. This looks like an issue with the driver package. Please try the steps listed below to try and fix the issue:
- First, unplug the USB cable from the printer, if present.
- Go to Control Panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control Panel – Devices and Printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart your computer.
- Now, click HP Color LaserJet Pro M254dw to download and install the software.
- Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
- Restart the PC and check.
Let me know if that helps!
Good luck 🙂

used Print doctor and checked farewall and no problem with it.
I switch off firewall and still no print.
Notepad gives window with "The parameter is Incorrect". MS Outlook says Printer not ready. With MS Word I just see a flash of a red button wuth a cross in the status bar.
Anybody there?
