CP6015dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just purchased a CP6015dn to print public domain music for local community orchestera on Hammermill 12x18 Color Copy paper but am encountering print quality issues.  Actual printed content comes out great but I'm frequently getting a light grey bar at the begining of a page (first image below) and when large area of white, the entire area is light grey (second image below).  These are prints from Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.  I also created a test Word document with just a single letter on four pages.  When printed 2-up single sided, the entire page is light gray and the single letter is printed crisply -- back is white.  When printed 2-up double sided, both sides are light gray with the single letter on each page printed crisply.  I also tried some prints on Double A brand 22lb letter paper -- same results.

I purchased and installed a replacement image roller kit (CB459A).  No effect.

I removed and inspected the Intermediate Transfer Belt.  It wasn't dirty.  No effect.

I removed and inspected the fuser.  It wasn't dirty.  No effect.

I purchased and installed a replacement black toner (CB380A/823A).  No effect.

I purchased and installed a replacement black drum (CB384A/824A).  Problem cleared up for a couple dozen pages and then returned.

Supplies Status Page indicates:

Black Cartridge: 98%; Image Drum: 100% (old one was 99% when replaced)

Cyan Cartridge: 72%; Image Drum: 99%

Magenta Cartridge: 66%; Image Drum 99%

Yellow Cartridge: 58%; Image Drum: 99%

Image Transfer Kit: 100%

Image Fuser Kit: 100%

Roller Kit: 100% (old one was also 100% when replaced)

What is going on?  What else can I try?

No one to reply this person?

I actually have the same problem, and would love to solve this too.

Thank you.

Update: I replaced the high voltage transfer board (RM1-3582-000CN) -- which can be found for ~$30 on eBay and Amazon.com.  This seems to have cleared up the problem but I haven't printed much since replacing.  It appears that diode D364 had failed.  I'll report back if the issue returns.  I also picked up a laser scanner assembly (Q3931-67907) in case the high voltage transfer board didn't fix it.  If the issue returns, I'll try that next.20180301_181108.jpg

Update: Issue is not resolved.

Same grey backgrounds reappeared after about a dozen pages.  Replaced Black/Cyan laser scanner assembly -- got 52.00 error (must have gotten a defective replacement) -- although also noted existing laser scanners were RM1-7021 and the replacement was RM1-3450 --  not sure if one is just an older version as they both appear to be the correct part for a CP6015.

Went back in and removed the replacement Black/Cyan laser scanner assembly, but swapped the Black/Cyan and Magenta/Yellow laser scanners.  52.00 error is gone but background issue is still present.
