Hp Ljubljana 2055dn
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

My new Mac iPad Pro will not print to my hp Lj 2055dn which Is on my iMac OS X system.  The printer is connected to the apple airport and my wife's iBook prints to the 2055dn ok through the wifi.  But the iPad only sees my hp office jet pro 8625 in its printer selections.   Apple said I needed air print but that is wrong.  I just need the I pad to see the 2055.  Any ideas.

How do I know if someone answers this. Do I get an email and how do I get back to the place an answer may appear.

my email is [Personal Information Removed] if someone could help.

Hi,

Apple is right, for iPad, you need AirPrint and the HP LJ 2055dn is not in the following list:

Please try the following solutions:

If I understand the air print it sends the content to the HP cloud and it then emails it back to me to print on my iMac.  Is that right?

I just want to send it to my printer here via my iMac and its Air Port network.

Is that not possible for the iPad????

Thanks

Hi,

Wrong, Airprint does not use HP "cloud",  just your home network between your devices (computers, mobile devices) and router is just a middle man.

Please read the second link to work this out because your printer does not support Airprint.

Hi,

THANKS.  Sorry.  I am lost now.  What is the second link?   I checked one out on the first message but it does not seem to be relevant.

I am not able to the Apple Store for Aps to find an Apple Air Print for the iPad.

I must be missing something.

The info I had was that Air Print was a back through the HP cloud for mobile printing.

Sorry to be so dumb.

Hi,

I am confused about this printing from my new Apple iPad pro to my HP lJ P2055dn.

Apple says Air Print is on the iPad already.

The iPad can "see" my HP OJ 8225 Pro ok and prints to it.

But the iPad cannot find the LJ 2055.  THe iPad only sees the OJ.

The LJ 2055 prints fine off my iMac and from two Apple lap tops, printing back through the Apple Airport wi fi.

I wonder if the problem is in the settings of the iPad?

Does it need some wi fi setting to let it find the 2055?  The iPad Safari searchs ok off the Apple Air Port.

I may be missing something, I am not all that swift on these things.

Can you help me get the iPad pro to print to the LJ P2055dn, I guess through the Apple Air Port?

Thanks,

Bob

As in the second link instructions when I hit print I do not get a list of printers to select from.  It just prints to the OJ 8265.

The OJ has a wi-fi which shows up in my Mac networds list too, along with my base station.  Wonder if that is a part of the problem.
