I'm having a strange issue with a new HP Laser Jet printer I just purchased. With every other printer I've ever used (Brother, Epson, Canon), the print dialogue box gives me the option of selecting landscape or portrait. I need this option in the print driver because I often have to change back and forth frequently between print jobs. However, this new HP Laser Jet no longer has an orientation option in the print dialogue box. It just automatically prints in portrait and there's nowhere I can find to change that.
I'm thinking I need to find a different printer driver, but I just don't know which one. Current driver is listed as MFP M278-M281 PCL-6 (V4). Any advice?

@roykirk
Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
As I understand, you're not getting portrait or landscape options while printing,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Did you install printer full feature driver?
Which application are you printing from?
If you have installed printer full feature drivers, you will get orientation options:
If you have not installed the full feature drivers, let's try to uninstall and reinstall printer drivers to resolve the issue:
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Laserjet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.go
To reinstall, click here: https://hp.care/2rBVKLZ.
Then check the print setting for changing orientation. You could refer to this article: https://hp.care/2BDe9LJ
Let me know how this goes,
For I shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,
And your device is up and running again,
Have a great day 🙂
Cheers 🙂

I used the installation disk that came with the printer to install the driver. I do not know if this is considered the "full feature" driver or not? The problem comes when trying to print from any web browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. All typical print options are available except orientation.
