HP Laser MFP 131 133 135-138
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear friends of HP

Recently I bought a cartridge for my HP printer (HP Laser MFP 137fnw) due to the "low toner" warning. Then, I proceeded to install the new cartridge, however, the "low toner" warning didn't disappear. I saw a video online that shows how to "reset" the "low toner" issue, (the youtube video instructions are: "at the "low toner" press left/right arrow then "OK" to continue"). After that, I was able to print even though the warning keeps coming time after time. The problem is that I still receive the "low toner" warning every time I turn the printer on, and I have to go through the whole procedure again, in order to print.  I hope you, dear friends, have the solution to this issue.

Sincerely

Jess B

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP laserJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here.

If the issue still continues, install using Using the Windows Built-in Print DriverClick here

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
