We use our printer as a copier. It cuts off the left or right margin (can't remember which) very severely. It does this when copying and did it when I ran a report out of the machine. So, the issue is in the settings, I think. I have looked through the menu on the machine but can't find what I might change to correct this problem. This machine is not that old. Not sure if it ever worked correctly since I was not around when first installed.
I just thought of something. Would it help if I unplugged this machine and then replug to have it go back to factory settings OR is there a choice on the menu for resetting everything to default?
Thanks for your help. --Dave

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
As I understand you need help with the copies being cut off,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Have you attempted to select the correct default copy paper size for your printer?
While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:
Select the correct default copy paper size for printers with a touchscreen control panel.
-
From the home screen of the printer control panel, touch Copy.
-
Touch Settings.
-
Swipe down, and then touch Paper.
-
Select Letter, Legal, or A4, depending on the paper size loaded in the paper tray.
-
Select the paper type.
-
Swipe up, and then touch Set as New Defaults.
Your selections are now the default copy settings.
If you don't have a touchscreen on the printer: Click here for steps and select the option accordingly.
Alternatively, you may also: Click here to visit your user guide and follow the steps mentioned under Page.164.
If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to perform an advanced reset on the printer. Doing this will reset the printer to the factory settings.
I'm going to send you a private message with the instructions, the reason why we're utilizing the instructions in the private message is because these instructions are crucial and specific to your printer model.
Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile,

I hope this helps resolve this issue completely,
