M175NW
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have 2 M175NW Laser Jet Printers, both have worked well since purchase. I recently moved and purchased a new router. One printer connected immediately and works well. The other will not connect wirelessly, wired or via USB. I have tried the HP print and scan doctor to no avail and cannot find a sing remedy here that has worked. Short of replacing my printer is there anything else I can attempt to force this printer on to the network?

Hi @bflynn0756

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  "unable to connect the printer to the computer" issue.

To better assist you -

1)Is there any error message on the printer screen?

2)Are you able to make copies using the printer?

Let's try a power reset on the printer-

Reset the product

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  6. Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try connecting printer to the network using the WPS method

  1. Locate the WPS button on your router, but do not press it yet.

  2. Turn on the printer. If the printer is in sleep mode, press the Cancel button on the control panel.

  3. On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button  for at least 3 seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash.

  4. On the router, press and hold the WPS button for 3 to 5 seconds or until it shows that the WPS connection process has started. Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns on solid.
