Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a recently new HP M254dw that's only a few months old.  All of a sudden it has started scratching my transparency paper on the print side.  I use this to print transfers that I use to apply to garments.  It has not has this issue before so it just started happening.  Someone please help. IMG_20200417_135039_MP.jpg

Do you have this problem printing on regular media? My first guess is you have something in the paper path. Is the image well bonded to the transparency in the spots where the crease is? If not then you might have something stuck to the fuser, piece of label or other foreign material.  If the defect is well bonded the problem is before the fuser. Check all the cartridges carefully for bits of paper and check all rollers in the printer for buildup of material.

On regular paper there is no visible sign.  This is because there is something scratching the transparency.  I know its not the print because the transparency has emulsion, and the emulsion is what i see getting scratched off.  I tend to believe there is something in the path too but I can't figure out how to clear it without disassembling the entire printer.  I tried opening the compartments I can and sticking paper in to clear it but I went as far as I could go without completely ripping the printer apart.

How are you loading the media? Through the manual feed slot or from the paper cassette? Have you checked the paper path for any buildup or obstructions? Is the media actually being scratched or maybe creased?

I've tried loading it through both slots.  I have checked the paper path as much as I can and did not find anything visible. The media is actually being scratched.

Try stopping it in mid-print by opening the rear door and see where the scratch begins to appear. This should get you close to what's causing the problem.
