Hello,

Are you using refilled or remanufactured cartridge ? If yes, i'd suggest you to use a Genuine HP Toner cartridge.

Hello,

My cartridge are all geniune HP, not empty,

The problem is that once started, printer seems Ok for 10 seconds, and then shows "79 service error" for few second, shut  down and restart itself.

Every minute it restart like this.

It's impossible to do anything else as the "normal" display is on only 10 to 15 seconds before shutting down again.

I can't even control whose firmware is in it or change any setting.

I tried to re-update the firmware from my PC, using the .exe found on your site, but it didn't change anything to it.

Regards,

JMG

I have the same problem after the firmware upgrade to 20201021.  Nothing but genuine HP cartridges.  I had to disconnect the network cable and wireless to stop the error. Can you help?

I'd suggest to disable IPv6 and DHCP6.

In order to disable IPv6 on the Printer, use a web browser to navigate to the IP Address of the Printer.  Once there, click on the networking tab, choose Networking Settings.  There you will see a checkbox that says "IPv6".  Uncheck that box, similarly uncheck the DHCP6 and click apply.

Now connect printer on network ana check if error still persist.

Have a great day!

Jabzi

That solved it without having to downgrade the firmware (which I may do in the future).  Thanks!

I am not using HP cartridges and the printer will no longer recognize the cartridges that were install prior to the update, that were working fine.  I want to roll back to the previous firmware.  where is it available?
