Laserjet Pro MFB M426fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The Laserjet Pro MFB M426fdw printer prints auto duplex on windows 7 PC just fine but will not print auto duplex on Windows 10 PC.  It will only print duplex manually.  Have reloaded current driver which didn't help.

The 'automatic discovery' feature used by some drivers on installation (or update) doesn't always work; ensure that the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that one is present):

  • For the printer instance in question, bring up the Printer properties dialogue.
  • Select the Device settings tab.
  • Ensure that the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed.

You'll probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the device settings.

Hi,

if your printer driver is with Windows update from win 7 to win 10. if the upgrade works not, I will recommend you to download the new driver for win 10 OS on HP.COM for M426 as below:

I found that Dansdaduk's description helped in one case, but in another case, it required a second step.

First step per Dansdaduk's description:

If the above still doesn't work, try this additional step when printing:

To Dansdaduk...thanks a bunch!
