M607
Microsoft Windows Server 2016

Afternoon all.

We have a situation where we would rather have the faster first page print speeds of a 300dpi vs the 1200pdi default of the universal driver for the M607. The driver only gives us the option of Fastres 1200. Is there a solution to drop the resolution down.   or is there another HP driver that may work to over different resolutions. The I have not tried but HP drivers were always a good standard to use as a generic.  Is there a "good" newer PCl 6 generic driver. that people are able to use.?

HP UPD PCL6  6.7  offer 600 dpi resolution.  As suggested you could check UPD PCL5 the newest version of that is 5.9, HP has stopped developement on the PCL5 drivers so this would be the only option.
