Randomly getting a 98.03.12 error on printer. Job sizes range from 1.5mb to 3.3mb. There are at least 3 computers having this issue printing from different programs. It's hit or miss. Some jobs of the same size go right through. They say it happened once in June and I saw in the error log, two times this month. Worked fine last month printing same program files about the same size. I updated firmware to the latest (2309010  581421  datecode 20190118). It happened again today they said. I am going to try running a similar size file from my laptop to seperate their network from the printer. I can't find an exact explanation of this particular error code other than 98.0x.xx, which calls for firmware. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

This is caused by corrupt data on the harddisk. Your first and best option is to run a disk format through the preboot menu and then install the latest firmware. If you have a touch screen, power on unit and when a black line appears under the HP logo, touch the logo immediately. If you have a keypad, then you restart the printer and touch the "x" button when the screen turns on. From there, navigate to administrator and select "format disk", Unit will state that you will need to reinstall firmware if you do this. You install the firmware by selecting the download option, inserting a USB key with the firmware .BDL file on it in the usb slot of the printer. You download the firmware from support.hp.com
