Hi @barbiwilliams

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are the steps to scan from your MFP 3301 printer to your computer:

For Windows:

  1. Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to your computer via USB or network.
  2. Open the HP App on your computer.
  3. In the app, select your printer from the home screen.
  4. Click on Scan.
  5. Choose Scan a Document or Photo.
  6. Adjust the settings as needed (file type, resolution, color, destination folder).
  7. Place the document face down on the scanner glass or in the document feeder.
  8. Press Scan in the app. The file will be saved to the location you selected.

For macOS:

  1. Ensure the printer is connected to your Mac.
  2. Open the HP App.
  3. Select your printer.
  4. Click on Scan.
  5. Choose Scan a Document or Photo.
  6. Adjust the scan preferences (file type, resolution, destination).
  7. Place the document on the scanner glass or feeder.
  8. Press Scan. The file will be saved to your chosen folder.

Additional Notes:

  • If you want to scan directly from the printer’s control panel, select Scan, then choose Computer. Ensure the HP App is running on your computer for the device to detect it.
  • Always confirm that the latest drivers and the HP App are installed to avoid compatibility issues.
