HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4302dw Printer
macOS 15.0 Sequoia

Hello,

my printer doesn't have the duplex option anymore. I can't find it in printer options or on the website and can't print 2-sided to 2-sided. I only have 1 to 1 oder 1 to 2 but no 2 to 1 oder 2 to 2. Initially it went well without any problems.

I don't know why it disappeared.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thank you very much in advance!

Regards

Peter

Hi @PSchwarzkopf,

If your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4302dw printer is no longer showing the duplex (two-sided) printing option, here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue:

  1. Check Printer Configuration:

    • Ensure that the duplex unit is properly installed on the printer. The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4302dw supports automatic duplex printing, but sometimes physical adjustments or re-installations might be needed.
  2. Verify Printer Settings:

    • Open the printer settings on your computer and check for duplex options.
    • Go to Devices and Printers on Windows, right-click your printer, select Printer Preferences, and then look for any settings related to duplex or double-sided printing.
  3. Update Printer Drivers:

    • Ensure you are using the correct and latest driver for your printer model. You can download the latest drivers from HP's support website.
  4. Check Application Print Settings:

    • When printing from an application, ensure that the print dialogue box's options include duplex printing. Look for settings like "Print on Both Sides" or similar terms.
  5. Printer's Control Panel:

    • Check the printer’s control panel options. Navigate to settings related to paper handling or duplex printing to confirm it is enabled.
  6. Reset Printer:

    • As a last resort, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. Check the user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset on your specific model.
