Product: MFP M281cdw
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

New (few weeks old) laser printer is working fine, great print quality.  But about 2 to 3X per day, it wakes up, un-prompted.  Nothing printed, nothing happens.  The motors just startup, then goes back to sleep.  I’m using it exclusively on WiFi (and sometimes AirPrint).  Before I dig into other issues (the WiFi, Router, Cable, neighbors, other...) is this normal or expected behavior?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the printer issue.

 

This is a normal behavior as the printer is on the network. I think the printer is refreshing itself every now and then as per the command from the router and hence the untimely wakeup.
