Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

Keep getting an error message to restart the printer.....unable to get past this with every restart.

Hi,
Is it your MAC or the display on the printer that says this message?
If it's on the printer there should be a faultcode showing. If you have this faultcode it will be easer to know the issue

Thank for your reply.  The fault code on the printer is 59.FO.     Called HP support...did everything they advised to no avail.  Called an authorized service center who said the belt needed to be replaced.  Printer was only 3 months beyond it's one year warranty.  Very disappointed with HP quality.  This is not a cheap printer.

Is it a known issue for the transfer belt to need replacing after 15 months of what I would consider light to moderate use?

Normally cartridges wears out first. By the way, I searched about your fault code, seems to be some steps to try but it somewhat advanced. It said to try cleaning sensors and see if the belt is moving. Might give it ago depending what your plan is.

Replacement HP belt is $299.  Service call is $100.  1/2 the price of a new printer after 15 months!   I had a Brother Color Laser Printer before this and the belt was a user replaceable part.
