Greetings;

I own two legacy HP Laserjet printers, these being: a 4 plus and a 5. My main home printer (Laserjet 5) is connected through an HP Jet direct MIO card via ethernet to my computer and the system works perfectly - this being set up manually using the HP MIO menu.

However my Workspace printer (Laserjet 4 plus) MIO card is fitted with an Emulex Netjet NIC - which I'm having problems with. The card fits perfectly into the MIO slot and If I perform a Test Menu self test printout, the test recognises the card (by name), as being installed along with its parameters, but I'm unable to bring up the printer's HP MIO menu to allow me to set up the NIC's various IP addresses etc. I've performed a cold reset on the machine which (after the Test Menu self test printout) shows that the IP addresses for the Emulex Netjet NIC have been reset to their default parameters - so the card is recognised and its parameters updated via the cold reset.

Due to the lack of HP MIO menu access, am I to surmise that the  HP MIO menu only works when an HP Jet direct MIO card is fitted? Before I left my last place of work for retirement, we had a great many HP  Laserjet 4 plus machines networked and all using Emulex Netjet NIC's with no issues?

If the above is the case, then can someone please confirm this along with perhaps a workaround solution? Being a legacy machine, someone must have come up against the same issue?

Look forward to your responses.

Cheers
