I have the HP M402dn which clearly has a network card inside. I think it is classified as wireless-ready BUT without an "n" at the end of its name it is not fully wireless to access our network. Our network is via a Verizon hotspot (AC791L). Does anyone know what external device we can use to have the printer be accessed by many laptops on the network, thus not connected to a laptop via USB? Thanks

You will need one for each as the 701 only has 1 Ethernet port. However, you can front end the 701 with a 5 port switch and connect more.

What is your printer ? with n or without n ? Both with n or without n don't have wireless. Wireless printer MUST have w (for wireless ie: M402dw)
d: for duplex,
n: for network but wired,
w: for wireless
Specs: http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA6-1049EEP.pdf
You printer does not have w that means no wireless therefore you can connect to router using CAT5e or CAT6 cable then all machines which are connected to same router (network wirewles) can print wirelessly.
Regards.

However you can make an Ethernet printer wireless for pretty cheap. Just add a small travel router that has repeater capabilities. TP Link 701 will work.
That or Powerline Ethernet Adapters will work too. Check Amazon.
