From the Datasheet:

prepunched, recycled, rough), transparencies, labels, envelopes, cardstock

Media Weight Supported 16 to 43 lb (Uncoated/Matte, recommended), however up to 47 lb Postcards and 53 lb HP Matte is allowed in the driver; 16 to 43 lb (Coated/Glossy, recommended) , however up to 47 lb Postcards and 59 lb HP Glossy is allowed in the driver.

In general, I believe the information is saying that though the Laser printer is a workhorse for standard document printing (on plain paper), it is somewhat limited in the "paper weight" department.  With respect, I could be wrong - my quick check of the data might have missed something.

HP Matte is perhaps (also) defined as paper type "Index".  ??

Index is paper made to an ISO standard for paper weight and type.

Check the Printing Preferences to a list of Media (kind of paper) and supported paper sizes.

Know that some combinations are not allowed.

For example, if your printer supports duplex, that setting may not be compatible with certain Media or paper sizes.
