1.  The executable file at the product page does not supply any driver.  When the full solution file extracts, it's nothing but manuals?

2. New Dell Computer.  when I add the printer manually, oddly, there are not USB ports in the menu options.

3. Used the Windows Update suggested to add printer manually, Can I use the Universal driver or the PCL6 driver?

4. used the Windows Troubleshooter to clear the spooler. Yay. that part works

5. Printer was working before change to new Dell, but replaced toner cartridge to eliminate problem with printer error messages

6. Finally, Function address 0x80072c5c caused a protection fault. Some or all property pages may not be displayed.

Er.  Can i get a good driver for this printer please?  I'm exhausted.

Linda

Thank you for the help with troubleshooting.  I had originally gotten the wireless portion running, but had trouble with the scanning.  I installed the hardwired printer and it's finally working.

Sadly, I now get an error message from Acrobat X (they hijacked my personal & paid for copy of DC-sigh still angry).  Anyhow, the error message states that "Either scanner driver is not installed or scanner is not connected."  I realize that this is likely an issue with Adobe, but I thought I might check back here about the error.

If anyone has any experience with this message, I'd appreciate the input.

Thank you,

Linda

Ok, let me update the last note.  Device Manager cannot see a scanner in imaging devices.

Run the Print and Scan Doctor

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor  to automatically diagnose and resolve printer hardware and connection issues.

After the Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Fix Scanning to test your scanner, and then follow any instructions to resolve the issue.

Try to scan.

I've done this step multiple times.  I am failing to print at all.  Why did the printer work with Windows 10 before I bought a new computer and now, every update seems to interfere?  I have things stacked up in the print queue and now it seems like when I restart the computer is the only time that I can print.  I've tried starting and stopping the Print Spooler.  Getting the Wifi portion to be recognized and still no progress.  I still cannot scan either. The Scan Doctor says that I need to hard cycle everything, which I've done several times.

This really bothers me because I have a really good printer, that works, it's always done what it's supposed to an now, always painful.

Create a new user account and install the printer driver.

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Select Family & other users.
  4. Tap "Add someone else to this PC."
  5. Select "I don't have this person's sign-in information."
  6. Select "Add a user without a Microsoft account."
  7. Enter a username, type the account's password twice, enter a clue and select Next.

Download and install printer full feature driver:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.
