My printer is connected via USB and gets disconnected from the printer on a regular basis.  It goes offline.  The only way I fix this problem is to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and software for the printer.  Very frustrating.  Has anyone solved such a problem?

It could be a simple issue  such as a bad cable, and yes cables can fail and usually it is the last thing  people check.

USB cables (especially NO-OEM ones) happen this frequently. If you can, try to use it by network/wifi (with manual IP address).
