My printer is not compatible with my device

• MacOS 10.13 High Sierra

It is listed as Compatible, but you have to get the Driver from Apple Software Update:

In order to install the printer, you need to go to the system prefernce >> printer and scanner. click on (+) to add the printer. Depending on the mode of installation ( usb/ network

sytem preference >> printer and scanner
Go to default and click on Add (+)
It may have some prelisted printer look for the option name , location , printer using option  (listed at bottom)
select the HP generic Post scrip printer from the list and complete the installation

you also have the option to add printer via selecting "other " post this you will get the list of all the printer driver available on Mac ( if you dont find the printer name, you need to get  the mac updated) 
nevigate through the option and select the printer
complete the process and test

Please do try the above mentioned steps as a fix. it should make the printetr to work. you would not be able to get the direct drivers from Support.hp.com as this printer is little old. you have to use the postscript or gereric PCL or  O/s vendor driver for prnting purpose.
