HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M177 PclmS

My printer is stuck "initializing" after I have changed thre cartridges. When checking the status of the cartiridges on the touch screen, it shows questionmarks "?" for all the colors. When pushing any of the colors/questionmarks, there is a message

" moving yellow cartridge to the front". But nothing is happening, nothing is moving.

I have tried turning the printer off and on again, but there is no change....

Please help!!

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Please remove the cartridges and perform a printer reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed

Then update the Firmware from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers and put back the cartridges

Let me know how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Could take out one cartridge, but could not get the printer to move the othe ones forward.

Sorry, seems like I replied to the wrong message. Nevertheless, I could not take out more than one cartidge as the printer doesn't follow instruction to move any of the other cartridges forward.

Thanks, that was a good advice. it worked fine until itried to remove the fourth cartridge. It's fixed on one side and I can't remove it.

It happened to me before. You will have to use both of your hands trying to push it back to its place and take it out.

If you have to push it harder it will work.
