Hi @Malcolm95,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that your printer is not printing in color when using Open Publisher, there may be several reasons for this issue. I would request you to please follow the steps:

Verify Printer Properties in Publisher

  • In Publisher, go to File > Print.
  • Click Printer Properties (or Preferences).
  • Make sure Color or Composite RGB is selected.
  • If you only see Grayscale/Monochrome, the driver may not be exposing color options

Update Printer Drivers

  • Go to your printer manufacturer’s support site HP
  • Download and install the latest full-feature driver package.
  • Outdated drivers often cause Publisher to default to grayscale

Check Publisher’s Print Options

  • In Advanced Print Settings, confirm:
  • Composite RGB is selected.
  • Paper type matches what the printer expects.
  • If Publisher still doesn’t show color options, reinstalling Publisher or Office may help.

Printer Defaults

  • In Windows Settings > Printers & Scanners, select your printer.
  • Click Printing Preferences.
  • Ensure the default is set to Color.
  • Publisher sometimes inherits the system default.

Take care and have an amazing day!
