HP LaserJet M1522nf
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an HP LaserJet M1522nf connected via USB to my PC and over the last few months, it has started to reset itself during the day. It has always come back with the Ready light on and will start printing.  In the last week or so, it doesn't come back to Ready and I've had to shutdown my PC and turn off/on the printer, then restart my PC.  After doing all this the printer would be Ready.  This morning, after shutting down my PC and turning off/on the printer then restarting my PC, the printer is still offline with the Ready light and the exclamation lights blinking off and on at the same time.   The display says 'Hewlett-Packard' on the first line and the second line says '>>>>>'.  I thought a cold reset might get the printer out of this state but I don't know how to cold restart this model.  Or . . . if you know what is causing the printer to reset itself that would be even better.  Thanks.

It's a common problem seen on the HP M1522.

Bad formatter has to be replaced.

Or you can try to bake it.

Ckech here.

Thank you for posting a solution.  We don't have an oven here at work so we have decided to disconnect this printer and use a spare printer in its place.
