Had to change my network ssid and password. Printer no longer connected. How do I attach printer to new network? Do I have to follow the new install using cd, etc or is there a work-around? Thanks

Hello, @edee_em – Greetings!
Thanks for engaging in the HP Forums! I see by your post that you are experiencing printer issues. I will certainly do my best to help you 🙂
Going through your post, I understand that you are trying to connect the printer to the network. You need to run the printer software and connect the USB cable from printer to the PC to connect the printer to the network. Once connected, you can remove the cable and use the printer over the network. Follow the steps below:
- Unplug the USB cable from the printer and computer, if present.
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Restart your computer.
- Now click on http://hp.care/2o1xShv to download and install the printer drivers.
-
When prompted, select the Connect through a wireless network option.
-
When prompted, connect the USB cable
to the computer. -
When the installation is complete, print a configuration report to make sure the printer has an SSID name.
-
Make sure the Ready light
is on and that the printer is idle and silent. -
Press and hold the Cancel button
, and release it when the Ready light
begins blinking.The Configuration report prints.
-
-
When the Configuration Report prints, disconnect the USB cable
from the printer.Your printer is now set up to use over a wireless network connection.
Let me know if that helps!
Good luck 🙂
