HP Laserjet MFP M175nw
Microsoft Windows Vista

Hi all.

This is probably a bit more deeper than an average problem.

My above printer works fine on my 2 other modem routers, even now.

I got a new modem / router from Telstra, model Technicolor TG797n v3.

A number of devices at home work just fine with this, including computers, phones, and ipads, AND EVEN ANOTHER HP PRINTER (Laserjet CP1025nw).

However, it simply will not recognize the MFP M175nw. I have tried so many ways, re-starts and factory re-sets, a number of times. Tried WPS, WPS wit PIN code, and EVEN directly connecting to the router with an Ethernet cable. - Nothing doing, Router simply does not see this printer.

I have even done a firmware update on the printer. Still no good.

I have even downloaded and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor - Even that program can't find this printer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

-Fauzer.

Hi, cheers for the suggestion. As this is a home set up, budget is a consideration.

My linksys WAG325n is still in good working order and handled all printers and devices witout a problem.

I am going to try and make my Tehcnicolor gateway a pure gate way, and make the linksys the router.

I don't know exactly how to do it just yet, but I am going to have a go, if you have any pointers in the mean time, please do share.

Thanks heaps.

The device is not a router, it is a Gateway device. Now you know why gateway devices are terrible for connectivity for some devices. Best to put that gateway in full bridge mode and install your own high quality router that you have full control over.
