Not Able to change tray on Hp MFP277dw with android 9

HI, I am using HP MFP 277DW printer. but whenever I give print command from My Mobile it goes to Tray-1 and if i click drop down in printer setting there is nothing given so every time I have to Load paper Manually in tray-1. I have downloaded Hp service Plugin and Hp smart print app also. I checked setting in both this application. under paper setting, there is nothing like default tray. I have checked previous answers by HP community expert and already tried everything. Please help me as nowadays I have to print many papers from Mobile or Kids Tablet because of COVID-19.

Using the HP Smart app on the mobile devices may have limitations where selecting the tray may not be available.

This feature is available when the printer is installed using a full-featured driver on a PC.

Hi dear, thanks for your reply. I have Hp smart app but there is no option to change paper tray in settings. In paper settings we can  change paper size only but we can't make any default tray. So when ever I give print command from any Android device printer always ask to put papers from tray 1.

I am using Android 9 device that is Samsung note 8.

I checked some other conversations on hp community also. This is very old problem and many other users have also reported on hp community but hp has not able to solve for any user.

Kindly give appropriate solution.

@kumar0307 i have already mentioned in my previous messages that I am facing this problem on Android device not with windows device. So please help me with appropriate advice for Android device.

I have answered your query in my previous post. The app on mobile devices has limitations and does not have this feature.

You will have to use it on a PC.

Let us try these steps:

• Open the app and select the document you would like to print.
• At the top right hand corner there is an icon for edit (three bars with three circles).
• If you tap that you get a number of options at the bottom of the screen like number of copies, colour and quality, paper etc. If you tap "paper" you get new options for format (A4, 10x15 etc), source (automatic or main tray) and type (photo paper or plain paper).
• Try selecting the required tray.

If you do not find the option to select the tray, I'm afraid we do not have any other option using a phone.
