Occasionally faded pages

Hi!

We have a very strange behavior of our Color LaserJet MFP M477fdw which is completely unrelated to the driver or the OS that is used for printing because it also happens when printing Test Pages or Calibration Pages directly from the printer's Setup/Service menu accessible via the touchscreen.

So what happens is that the first few pages are printed perfectly, but then a page is printed that is uniformly faded. The printer seems to realize that something went wrong, waits for a few seconds and reprints the "faded page" again and now the print is fine again. This problem repeats itself after ca. 3 to 10 pages and in the end we have quite a number of pages that can be trashed.

(I have had a look at the error report from the 2ndary service menu but there was only a strange message "ASSERT FAILED, Task: BIP-ReaderTransform-0bc2c584, File: AiOPool_share.c Line: 372".)

We would appreciate any hints on what could be the problem with our printer.

Do a Reset Default from the front panel to see if it helps.

If it is not you can try to update firmware.
