I have burned several hours trying to set up my " pro mpf m26nw" printer for my mother in law and had to give up, drag it home and make an account to attempt a resolution.
Please tell me how to get rid the initialization loop. Powering it down for extended periods of time had not helped.

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have a new HP LaserJet Pro MFP M26nw printer. I read that the printer is stuck in an initialization loop for a very long time. Not to worry, I'll do my best to assist you with this case. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
- Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
- The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
- Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
If the issue persists then please reset the printer. I have sent you a private message with the steps to reset the printer.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Please feel free to let me know how it goes. All the best! 🙂
