Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Reproducing the problem behavior:
Load an A5 piece of paper on the scanning bed or the scanning tray.

Press Scan on the printer's built-in LCD.

Press "paper size".

Only Legal, Letter, and A4 options are available.

The problem(s):

1. The LCD requests A4 paper every time.  If I try to make 20 copies, I have to press "OK" on the LCD 20 times.

2. I cannot copy from A5 to A5.

Current workaround:

Scan the document using HP Scan and then print it.

Expected behavior:

The ADF or scanner bed detects the paper size.

Comment:

Most likely, it is not possible for the hardware to detect the paper size; therefore, only the workaround can help users with this issue.  If anyone has something I can flash into the printer or some way to macro past the error messages, please let me know.

Hi,

You are referring to copying from one side but describe scanning from the other side, what exact action are you trying to perform?

For Copying, you would need to reload the paper tray first and then follow the prompt on the screen to change the Paper Size for the printer to A5 or to Any Size, when it is set to A4 it will prompt for a such with any copy.
