I have my printer HP M209dwe with an orange light blinking and no lights in the panel. I turned the printer off for one minute and on again, and the same situation. I turned the router off and then on, and then the same. I changed the ink cartridge (Original one) two days ago, and it has been working fine for two days, then stopped. I can't do a reset to the printer because the panel opetion not responding (No lights in the panel). Could you please help?

Hi @Zano2

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for the detailed steps you've already taken—your effort is truly appreciated.

The blinking orange light with no panel response on your HP LaserJet M209dwe suggests a hardware-level attention state, often related to a paper path, cartridge seating, or internal error.

Let's walk through a few precise steps to help bring your printer back to life.

1. Perform a Full Power Reset (Hard Reset)

Even if you've already done a basic power cycle, let's try a deeper reset:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 2–3 minutes to allow residual charge to dissipate.
  • Press and hold the power button on the printer for 15 seconds while unplugged.
  • Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet (avoid power strips or surge protectors).
  • Turn the printer back on and observe the lights.

2. Check for Paper or Obstructions

  • Open the input and output trays, toner access door, and rear access panel.
  • Gently remove any jammed paper, debris, or torn bits.
  • Ensure the paper tray is not overfilled and the guides are snug against the paper stack.

3. Inspect the Toner Cartridge

Since you recently replaced the cartridge:

  • Power off the printer and open the toner access door.
  • Remove the toner cartridge and inspect it for any protective seals or packaging that may not have been removed.
  • Gently reinsert the cartridge, ensuring it clicks into place securely.
  • Close the access door and power the printer back on.

4. Check for Overheating or Environmental Factors

  • Ensure the printer is in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
  • If the printer feels warm, allow it to cool down for 10–15 minutes before restarting.

5. Attempt a Network Reset (if applicable)

If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi and the panel is unresponsive:

  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5–10 seconds.
  • This should trigger a network reset (watch for any change in the light behavior).

6. Try USB Connection to a Windows PC

  • Connect the printer to your Windows PC via USB.
  • Open the HP App on your PC and check if the printer is detected.
  • If detected, check for any error messages or firmware update prompts.

If none of the above steps restore functionality and the orange light continues to blink with no panel lights:

  • The printer may be in a firmware error state or experiencing a hardware fault.
  • In such cases, further internal diagnostics may be required.

Please let me know how the printer responds after these steps. I’m here to guide you through the next actions based on what you observe.
