Hello,
I've just realized that the width guides on the paper tray do not fully open to 8.5. It will only adjust to A4. As a result, our paper is jamming fairly regularly and we are now getting an error message the the paper is the wrong size (which, it would be technically since we can't move the width guide to correctly hold it in place). I've pushed the guide button in and it slides in and out effectively, it just locks on the second to last option and will not fully extend open.
Thanks for any thoughts and help!

There is no auto-detect on this model, paper size is set through the control panel. I had a look at a tray here, Unless there is something sitting on the side of the tray blocking it, there is no obvious way for the width sensor not to work. We had had issues with some of the adjustments for length but this is the first time I have heard of width issues. Can you post a picture? This is a pretty new printer, if the tray is not working, contact tech support and have them send a replacement.

I don't have a tray for that model to look at in shop at the moment. Usually there is some type of gear and teeth system that helps the guides lock into place. On some paper trays that is a little white gear with a phillips head screw on the bottom side of the tray, and in some trays you have to actually remove the metal lifter plate inside the tray to gain access to this area. sounds like the guides have just skipped off track- does it look like one side is maxing out and there is still room on the other side- or are both side not expanding fully?
