Come on guys, someone needs to make this paper weight function for me after I forgot the printer password. How in the world do you reset the printer password ????? (Note: I renamed my WiFi network and need to get the printer on line to the new named WiFi).
PLEASE HELP !
I can print on a ether cable, but that is really not a solution!
Thanks!
Carl

Hello @Carletal
If you set up a password for the printer then a reset needs to be done for the unit (see the steps bellow)
If want you need to do its actually connect the printer to a new or update the network then got to set up> network set up> wireless menu > wireless set up wizard and follow the prompts
NVRAM initialization
CAUTION: Be sure to print a configuration page before performing an NVRAM initialization.
An NVRAM initialization erases all data stored in the unprotected NVRAM sections. Performing an NVRAM
initialization resets the following settings and information:
● All menu settings are reset to factory default values.
● All localization settings, including language and country/region, are reset.
After performing an NVRAM initialization, reconfigure any computers that print to this printer so that the
computers can recognize the printer.
1. Turn the printer off.
Touchscreen control panels: Turn the printer on, and then, as soon as the HP logo appears, press the
lower right quadrant of the control panel.
3. When the Permanent Storage Init. message appears on the display, release the buttons (2-line control
panels) or touchscreen.
The NVRAM initialization starts.
4. When the printer has finished the NVRAM initialization, it returns to the Ready state.

You are THE MAN, or WOMAN !!!! Way to go.
Please note that for your first suggestion as changing the network, going into any of the network settings asked for the password FIRST and would not work. That would have been too easy.
Of note, I got a 888 phone number to call from the HP service site and the agent on that side of the pond gave me all wrong instructions and nothing worked. They indicated to send my needs on to their supervisor, took my email address and said I would be emailed the full instructions, which never took place. Way to go HP support not through the forum !
I have nothing bad to say about that side of the pond (well maybe Britain right now !) but it would be great for acompany as large as HP to have country specific help lines.
Thanks again !
