HP LaserJet MFP M436nda Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

When I try to change my password it says it has been changed, but after I try to log in with the new password it says it is wrong. The problem is then that I log in with the old one, but again without success. It turns out that I do not have an account to log in with. If I want to log in again, I have to reset the password from the technical menu.

The firmware is updated to the latest version.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Thanks!

I’ve faced the same issue with the M436nda after changing the password, neither the new nor old one works, and I have to reset it from the technical menu each time. What helped temporarily was using a simple password (no special characters), clearing the browser cache, or using incognito mode. But it seems like a firmware bug, so I’d recommend reporting it to HP support for a proper fix.

I had the same issue with my MFP M436nda. What worked for me was doing a full reset from the printer’s control panel and then accessing the Embedded Web Server to set a new password. Make sure you're connected directly to the printer's IP. Hope this helps!
