I have been given two HP Laser Jet cartridges CE505XC and was wondering if they ever expired?

If stored properly in sealed box toner cartridge can last for years. There is no harm for the printer to use old toner if it works and print quality is good you are just fine. There is a date of manufacture on the box and on each toner, if it's in within few years they should be just fine.
