macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I have a brand new printer connected to a mac running on macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 but it will not print most emails and excel documents.  Instead I get a message of ERROR:  undefinedresult  OFFENDING COMMAND: xshow. I have tried just about everything to fix it but to no avail. Today I read on another forum that it could be caused by Office 365 as it dictates the use of Calibri font which is not being sent to the printer and the fix is to download a bunch of MS fonts from Apple StackExchange so that you install Calibri and Cambria.  Is this the fix or can I just change my default to Times New Roman?

macOS 10.13.4 contains the fix for this issue.  Please update to the latest version of macOS High Sierra.

Note:

PDFs created in macOS High Sierra versions prior to 10.13.4 may still experience this issue when printing.  You can either recreate these PDFs with in macOS 10.13.4 or later to remedy the issue or update to the latest firmware available for your device.

Some additional context would be helpful, in recommending a macOS update to resolve an issue.

What specifically is the fix in 10.13.4 that addresses this specific issue?

Thanks,
Don

Apple might be able to provide the most detailed explanation of the fix....

...but in general macOS 10.13.4 has a fix in how the PostScript is rendered by the OS.  There was a discrepency with how font glyph tables were being generated that exposed an opportunity for better exception handling in the printer's PostScript interpreter.

Apple fixed the tables in macOS 10.13.4 and HP improved the exception handling in firmware.

The printer actually exits more gracefully and handles the exception with out a crash.

I hope this helps.
