Can someone advise please. Purchased second hand and has some toner still. Prints in black text ok but when I use colour it's a mess. See pics.

Bad imaging units or toner cartridges. Could also be a bad transfer belt. Hopefully you did not pay much for the unit because the supplies needed to resolve these issues are going to cost a few dollars. Before you spend any money on it I would check the fuser closely to make sure it is in good shape.

Thanks for reply. Fortunately only paid £20 for it. When printing black text documents it is absolutely fine. Is it worth trying new toners? Or would I just be throwing money away?
