Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Have not been able to install wirelessly or wired . Network install fails can not get installed to Asus desktop windows 10 Enterprise.

I am frustrated. I have never had so much difficulty installing a printer! Is it Windows 10 issue or Hp issue or both?

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there's an issue with the network installation.

Appreciate you trying the troubleshooting steps. Don't worry, I'm here to help!

Let's begin with rebooting the router, printer and the computer and then try these steps -

Solution# 1 Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor -

Click here to run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Solution# 2 Re-install the printer drivers -

1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2) Look for HP Printer software.
3) Right-click to uninstall.
4) In the search box, type
and open “Devices and printers”.
5) In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6) Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8) Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10) Select Ok.
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12) Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13) Restart the computer.
14) Download and install the software and drivers from here.

If the issue still persists, try the next solution.

Solution# 3 Repair system files -

1) Close all open programs and apps running in Windows.
2) Search Windows for command, right-click command prompt from the list of search results and then select Run as Administrator.
3)
sfc /scannow in the command prompt, and then press Enter. The Microsoft SFC utility attempts to find and repair any damaged or corrupt files.
4) Try to install the HP driver and software again.
Type

If the error message displays, click Cancel and then continue to the next step.

Solution# 4 Use Microsoft Fixit Solution -

Go to this link. Follow the on-screen instructions, and then continue to the next step.

If the issue still persists, please refer to step#6 from this document.

Let me know how that goes.

I have done all steps prior to posting, and have just done them again with no luck. This is very frustrating, I am not sure if this is a windows 10 64bit issue or a hp issue but keep geeing driver error. I have not ever had such a hard time with a printer. I am almost ready to trash computer and printer! I may try reverting to window 8.1 to rule out Windows 10. :Crying: not happy with all this extra work! But thanks for your response
